July 31, 2009 - HRiA's Public Health Policy and Strategy Center, with funding from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, developed three issue briefs for Boston Mayor Thomas Menino's summit focusing on ending child hunger.
Menino teamed up with U.S. Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Kathleen Merrigan, community leaders, advocates, and health officials from across New England to address strategies and policies aimed at reducing childhood hunger and obesity rates.
HRiA researched promising federal-level policies focused on issues of food insecurity and unhealthy nutrition in low income populations.
