Insurance Coverage for Asthma, is a model insurance specifications checklist for health care purchasers and policy makers, produced by HRiA's Asthma Regional Council and the University of Massachusetts Lowell. It details what aspects of asthma care should be covered by health care payers and purchasers based on evidence-based recommendations for quality cost-effective coverage. This insurance checklist is an important tool for insurance payers, purchasers and policymakers across the country to support the advancement of best practices for asthma and is based on the most recent recommendations (2007) issued by the Asthma Expert Panel of the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP).
