December 1, 2009 - Health Resources in Action was recognized for its innovative and effective social marketing practice. The84.org, an online youth tobacco prevention movement, was honored with the prestigious Gold Award from the MarCom Awards.

June 24, 2009 - Over the past three years, youth have been called on by The 84, a teen-focused anti-tobacco movement, to create messages promoting smoke-free living. Anthony Price, the 2009 grand prize winner for his song "Live Life," and Yorling Valdez, second place winner of the most hip brand category for his song "Peligro," recently discussed their experience in the contest and tobacco prevention work with the Neighborhood Network News in Boston.

June 12, 2009 - The National Conference on Tobacco or Health invited HRiA to present The 84, an innovative youth tobacco prevention movement, at its June meeting.
HRiA's communications and youth work experts also conducted an oral presentation about youth organizing, focusing on the web and grassroots strategy and showcasing Massachusetts youths' accomplishments in the statewide tobacco prevention movement.
