June 1, 2009 - Health Resources in Action, on behalf of and in collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and partners: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation, MetroWest Community Health Care Foundation, Tufts Health Plan Foundation, and The Boston Foundation, is pleased to award 10 communities a Mass in Motion: Municipal Wellness and Leadership grant.

March 17, 2009 - Health Resources in Action, on behalf of and in collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and other partners is managing the grant process for The Mass in Motion campaign, launched by the Department of Public Health in January of 2009.

January 5, 2009 - The Dr. Leon Nicks Memorial Minority Physician Fellowship is awarded in the memory of Dr. Nicks, a lifelong advocate for access to high quality health care for all members of the community and a member of the Foundation’s Distribution Committee. Dr. Nicks graduated from Talladega College and Temple University, and received his doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Boston University in 1960. He organized and developed the Multicultural Training and Psychology Program at Boston Medical Center.
