January 28, 2010 - Imagine a time when all patients struck by leukemia recover fully. Charles Sawyers, M.D., at New York City's Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, has worked to make this a reality by contributing to the discovery of a new type of medication that increases patient survival of chronic myeloid leukemia from only two years to a staggering five-year survival rate near 90%.

April 17, 2009 - H. Robert Horvitz, Ph.D., stepped down as Chair of the Scientific Review Committee for the King Trust Postdoctoral Fellowship Program in April after three years on the committee. Dr. Horvitz offered invaluable guidance in selecting members, overseeing review meetings and revising program guidelines.
